This writer is absolutely wonderful. It's my first time reading her and I am impressed by both her writing skills and the story, which was great. There was hot sex but it did not overwhelm the story which happens too much in mm fiction.My only problem is the length. I've looked at her other books and it seems like they all run from 70 - 100 pages. I wish she wrote longer ones, not because they're rushed but because they're so good I want to spend more than an hour enjoying her work. I would happily pay more for a full length novel. For this one, I'd love to have read more about the actual move, handling of the estate, new life together, brothers' attitude about his move, etc.
If you like short novellas, well drawn characters and wonderful story lines, this is a good choice to buy.

I loved this book, the relationship between the two MC's was very touching. Mistakes from the past were righted and I finished the book with a smile on my face.
I quite enjoy this writer's easy to read style. When I want a quick romance with likable characters I will Look up her works. However this one is unconvincing and unappropriate in parts. In the first half of the book I was annoyed with both MCs. Dane should have my sympathy but his doubt about his dead lover irritated me. Donald, his dead lover, has surely proved that Dane was his only love. Just because the older man did not reveal his ex-wife and son, from his past before he met Dane was no excuse for Dane questioning their love. Not if dane reacted negatively towards the ideal of kids, anyway. Donald left everything to Dane in his will and was never unfaithful. So Dane did come across self absorbed and one has to ask how much he did truly love Donald.
Even if this is mm romance, I find the two MCs having sex just 1 month after Donald's death tasteless and unfeeling. Ok so this is the typical "never forgotten you" romance and this time it was 10 years since they last met as teenagers. Ok, so sex could be an outlet for Dane's grief but where is the respect to his dead lover of 6 years. And let's not even try to analyze Theo's feelings, which is the usual "I found you again and I want you now". Forget the part that Dane has just lost his lover and forget the fact theo never tried to contact the guy for 10 years. The only saving grace is probably nearing the end when Dane decided it was still too early (right, after so many sex scenes). But even that, barely a few days has passed before he changed his mind. At the end what came across was more like Dane grieving for his poor lonely self and not for his dead lover. Maybe I am too harsh. But if you have read After Ben (Seattle Stories), you will feel the same about this one.
Loved this book as pure escapism and romanticism, nothing deep or meaningful, no politics or tension, just a really good read with alot of good feelings!
Almost insta-love, but not quite. No drama in the story, just a short sweet tale, told by friends. And of, it's HEA ending.
Really enjoyed this book. So typical of life find the right person he dies then your left feeling the loss and close family is so far away. Then going back home is sometimes so tough. You often wonder if you missed out on something 30 years ago or less. Some of us don't talk about our feelings or desires and this book brings it all out and puts it into play. Well worth considering I enjoyed it greatly.
Wow, this was a great book! It starts off so sad, Dane has just lost his partner of many years, and finds out there were some secrets he knew nothing about. He reluctantly heads home to Vermont for some family time, and runs in to his first love. Theo let Dane get away years before, and has a second chance now, if they can work through Dane's mourning and trust issues.
This was a well written, gentle story, just enough drama and depth, with a great ending.
